In recent years, due to inflation and rising prices, the second-hand market has become more and more popular among consumers, and many platforms have successively launched second-hand trading services. Among them, Zara, a subsidiary of Inditex Group, will soon launch its second-hand platform Zara Pre-Owned in Europe.
According to reports, Zara Pre-Owned is a platform for Zara to sell or repair second-hand clothes, and will land in 14 new European markets including Spain on December 12th. The platform debuted in the UK in November 2022 and was well received. Zara Pre-Owned was listed in France in September this year. Inditex Group will also launch the platform in Spain, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Portugal.
The launch of Zara Pre-Owned is Inditex’s first bet on second-hand services, although the company installed recycling containers in its store network in 2016. To this end, Zara will set up a special section for Pre-Owned on its website. The new platform will appear in Zara.com’s main menu. Through this page, consumers will be able to repair, resell or donate old clothes. The shopping page will be organized by product category and provide detailed information of each product, including the original data of clothing and the current image provided by the seller.
To use Zara Pre-Owned service, you need to log in through Zara account and search the product catalog of the store for the goods you want to sell. In this way, the information about the clothing can be recovered, so that future buyers can know the detailed information of the product. In addition, the seller must upload photos of clothes, write a short description and set the price. After the clothes are sold, the seller will have three days to deliver them to the buyer.
